CATALYST INTERACTIVE

“Slaughterhouse Rulez’Producer Launches VR and Interactive Unit” (Variety)

Continuing to broaden the scope of its operations into diversified and accelerating growth areas, Catalyst Global Media, the multifaceted film and television production company and content financier based in London, has established a specialized in-house digital games and interactive storytelling division called Catalyst Interactive. The new division will be headed by Catalyst co-founder Al Hardiman.

The first executive appointment made by Hardiman, and Catalyst CEO, Charlotte Walls, is Jaspal Sohal, the former Head of Games at Creative England, who will join Catalyst Interactive in a senior creative position and provide strategic and operational leadership.

Catalyst Interactive has brokered a multi-project partnership with Twenty 46 Studios, a company focused on investing in the early stage development of interactive storytelling and digital entertainment.  The two companies’ first project together will be  a narrative-focused VR project based on the psychological impact of the fateful Belgian Antarctic Expedition of 1897; a true story about a multinational crew who became trapped in the Antarctic peninsula for over 13 months.

“Catalyst Interactive is strategically aligned to incorporate our storytelling skills with cutting-edge technology to create a truly immersive gaming experience while Catalyst will ultimately own the IP for subsequent projects,” said Hardiman.  “We are also utilizing our skills at producing projects, partnering with the best video game experts like Twenty 46 Studios , who bring together the right components to create a conceptual product that is ready for large-scale publishers to continue its development.”

Catalyst Interactive is founded amidst a sustainable surge and in the narrative gaming sector that is helping to redefine the entertainment ecosystem.  The company focuses on producing games that follow a revolutionary interactive storytelling experience for the player, utilizing Catalyst Global Media’s approach from the film and television creative culture. The company is also developing a slate of new gaming concepts for the future.
